Why the advertised rate is not your return
Platforms quote the interest rate on performing loans. Four things take a slice before the money is yours: defaults that are never recovered, money sitting uninvested, platform fees, and tax in your country of residence.
For scale, Mintos publishes its own net returns: losses cost investors between 3.6 and 8.2 percentage points a year in 2020β2022, and its 2022 net return was β1.2%.
Use the result in the compound interest calculator for a realistic projection, and see our risk page for what drives the loss figure.
