Our verdict

Maclear AG offers secured business loans from EUR 50 at fixed rates, with no investor fees on the primary market and a secondary market that clears most listings within a day, but the Swiss address does not come with Swiss supervision. It holds no financial licence: its PolyReg membership, held since May 2022, covers anti-money-laundering duties only, and Maclear says itself that FINMA does not supervise it directly. It has never published audited accounts, and its unaudited 2024 report shows equity of CHF −87,026 and a CHF −122,941 loss; Maclear says an auditor has now been engaged. Independent researchers have found borrower revenue figures far above national registry data, and Spanish sources report a CNMV warning of 11 May 2026 that could not be retrieved from cnmv.es. One team sources, rates, services and enforces every loan and also vets borrowers for 8lends, which shares Maclear's founders, so the two do not diversify each other.

What works

  • Every loan is secured, with Maclear acting as collateral agent under a published escalation process, and its one disclosed default (Vibroedil, 2025) ended with all principal returned by Maclear's account
  • No fees on deposits, investments or withdrawals; the only charge is 2.5% on a completed secondary-market sale
  • EUR 50 minimum, AutoInvest, and a secondary market with no holding period and a median sale time of about three hours by Maclear's figures
  • Investors receive an assigned share of the loan claim on the borrower, and Maclear publishes annual reports and default case details although Swiss law does not require it

What doesn't

  • No licence and no investor protection: PolyReg covers anti-money-laundering only, there is no FINMA or EU licence and no compensation scheme
  • No audited accounts and negative equity: the unaudited 2024 report shows equity of CHF −87,026 and a CHF −122,941 loss, with no auditor named
  • rethink-p2p.de found listed revenue far above registry figures for Vibroedil and two Estonian borrowers
  • A CNMV warning of 11 May 2026 is reported by Spanish sources but could not be confirmed on the regulator's own site

Who this is for

Experienced investors who want a small, speculative allocation to secured business loans, sized so that losing all of it would be unpleasant but not damaging.

Figure taken from: www.maclear.ch · Sep 19, 2026 · Advertised 'up to 16.5%'. Maclear's statistics page renders client-side and could not be read; its claimed platform average of ~14.9% cannot be reconciled against any audited figure, because no audited accounts exist.
