Advertised P2P rates are gross interest. This calculator subtracts losses, uninvested cash, fees and tax so you can see what is left.

This page is available in English and German.

Defaults you never get back. On large marketplaces this has run to several points a year.

Why the advertised rate is not your return

Platforms quote the interest rate on performing loans. Four things take a slice before the money is yours: defaults that are never recovered, money sitting uninvested, platform fees, and tax in your country of residence.

For scale, Mintos publishes its own net returns: losses cost investors between 3.6 and 8.2 percentage points a year in 2020–2022, and its 2022 net return was −1.2%.

Use the result in the compound interest calculator for a realistic projection, and see our risk page for what drives the loss figure.
